ARTS + Champion

Tyndale has had a high level of excellence in the Arts department throughout the years, with graduates from:

• AC Arts;
• Adelaide Conservatorium;
• NIDA;
• Flinders Centre;
• Adelaide Central School of Art; and
• UniSA all stemming from a Tyndale education.

The school’s success in its Arts department can be attributed to the excellence and knowledge of the Arts Plus champion, Ms Janet Fletcher, and the rest of the Arts team.

Ms Fletcher has worked at Tyndale on and off for over three decades, teaching and directing numerous subjects during her tenure, such as English, History, Drama and Classical Studies. Currently, she is the Deputy Principal of Teaching and Learning in the Senior School and teaches Year 12 Drama. On an episode of ‘Meet The Team Monday’ that aired on Facebook last year, Ms Fletcher gave us an insight into why she loves Tyndale and her favourite parts of working at the school.

“I’m blessed to work with an amazing group of professionals who want to be the very best that they can be at their job, so that the students can have the very best outcomes”, Ms Fletcher said.

“For me, Tyndale is more than where I go to work, it’s a community.”

Arts Plus offers the following subjects to enable your child the full Arts experience:

• Visual Art, Creative Arts, Design and Photography;
• Music – Solo, Ensemble, Studies and Experience;
• Drama;
• Media and Marketing; and
• Design and Product.

As well as this, Tyndale offers a range of co-curricular activities that could see them get the necessary experience in the Arts field to seek success post school. These activities include:

• Specialised VET in fashion, lighting, sound, makeup, screen, media and design;
• Integration of AMEB and Dance Academy qualifications into SACE;
• Opportunities to perform in Cabaret, Arts Nights and Drama Productions, Chapel Band, Theatre Sports and Dance Club; and
• Close relationships with the Fifth Business Theatre Company.
