Junior School
Foundation – Year 6
Our Junior School is the place where our youngest students begin their journey in becoming Tyndalians.
TINY TYNDALIANS
Beginning with our year-long transition program – Tiny Tyndalians – students are inspired and engaged with the wonder and enjoyment of learning.
This is an exciting Foundation transition programme for families with children enrolled to commence Foundation in 2026. The first years of schooling create the foundational skills for our students as they grow to be successful, lifelong learners who are conscious of their place and contribution to our community and world. FOUNDATION FOR LEARNING
In the early years, explicit teaching of fundamental literacy and numeracy skills provides children with the critical building blocks for all future learning. Through systematic, intentional instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, number sense and mathematical concepts, we equip students with the core competencies they need to access increasingly complex learning, while fostering confidence and positive attitudes that support them in becoming capable, enthusiastic lifelong learners.
LIFT THEIR EYES
Our vision is to lift our student’s eyes by providing opportunities for diverse experiences in the arts, technology and sports. This enables seeds of passion to be planted for future thriving, as we develop learners keen to enquire, investigate and absorb.
CHARACTER
We believe character development is the first building block for growing responsible and informed citizens who have the potential to serve others and develop their leadership.
Each child is uniquely created and gifted by God. It is a privilege for us to work with your child and family at the first stage of their journey as a Tyndalian.
HIGHLY ABLED LEARNERS
It is important to us that we help our children pursue academic excellence by providing them with a vibrant and challenging learning environment that enables them to reach their highest potential. The Junior School initiated ‘Highly Abled Learners’; a learning support initiative available for students who meet a certain criterion in Years 2 to Year 5.
Highly Abled Learners focuses on extending children in problem-solving skills, facilitating collaborative work and activities which build social and emotional intelligence. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities are also incorporated into Highly Abled Learners. The Learning Support Teacher will relay suggestions back to student’s teacher to help them utilise the student’s skills in the classroom. Email for more information.
